3 tips to help you prepare for your maternity photography session
Maternity photography is a great way to capture the moment before you welcome your baby into the world. You can show off your bump as well as Mom and Dad's excitement of the pending arrival. Here are a few of my best tips to help you prepare for a successful session.
Hair & Makeup
I always tell my clients that natural is best, meaning how you do your hair and makeup every day, as this gives you the best real life portrait! However, when it comes to mama's I always recommend a pampering because an upcoming photo shoot is such a great reason to hit the salon, get your nails done, or get a massage! Honestly though, this is totally for you and not the photos!
When you get to your third trimester, you'll likely feel like nothing looks good on you anymore. This isn't true! I find that long, flowing dresses look best and allow for you to be more comfortable during your session. Choose forgiving fabrics like cotton and you won't have to worry about adjusting your outfit for every shot.
Accessories tend to be most fun with maternity sessions! Bringing along an ultrasound photo, an outfit for your future little one or a blanket to wrap up in during a fall session can make for some really incredible images! Personal touches will create such a memorable experience.
